The News Sentinel's Jesse Smithey did a nice story on Mark Lail committing this past Sunday to play baseball at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C. A Winthrop coach first saw him playing in a tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C., with his summer traveling team, the Tennessee Copperheads. He was invited to a camp at the university and made his official recruiting visit over the weekend. Mark is a senior catcher with Bearden High School's baseball team in Knoxville, Tenn.
