An article in the Charlotte Observer notes that South Mountains State Park is dotted with family gravesites, including those of Lails.

I guess that figures since the state park (which I had never heard of) is in Burke County, N.C.

The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, La.) did a nice feature on high school wrestler Dustin Lail.

Lail, who has only been wrestling three years, will be competing in the state meet this weekend and is the No. 6 seed in the 135-pound weight class.

Centenary College of Louisiana's freshman softball pitcher Ashley Lail is making an immediate impact.

Over the weekend, Centenary lost the first two games of a tournament at Auburn, but rebounded to beat the Big Ten's Minnesota 4-2 and No. 17-ranked Auburn 9-6.

Some interesting commends by one Jennifer Lail in Seattle, who was quoted in an early January article (sorry catching up) about the Wood Construction Center, a professional technical program offered through Seattle Central Community College.

Former Indian Land High School standout Harley Lail is also on the Gamecocks' roster after two years at Spartanburg Methodist. Lail, a 5-foot-9, 175-pound infielder, expects to challenge Brown for the second base spot.
"It's a big jump," Lail said. "The competition's a whole lot steeper but I like the guys I'm with and feel like it's my time to step up."

Katy Lail of Charlotte was among three recent signees to the Pembroke soccer team.

Leroy and Lynn Lail of Hickory, N.C., have donated $25,000 to the Charles M. Snipes School of Business and the renovation of Mauney-Schaeffer halls at Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory.
