Lail receives Order of the Long Leaf Pine

N.C. Rep. Arthur Williams and Jack Lail
Jack C. Lail received North Carolina's highest divilian honor Thursday night.

N.C. Rep. Arthur Williams of Beaufort County, who initiated the award procedure, described Lail as having ”the vision to see, the faith to believe and the courage to do.“
He said that The Order of the Long Leaf Pine is presented to outstanding North Carolinians who have a proven record of service to the state. ”The governor has given it to Dr. Billy Graham, Maya Angelou, Charles Kuralt and, now, Jack Lail,“ Williams said in making the presentation of the framed certificate.
