The fluoridation debate (or where to stopping adding fluoride to drinking water) is spreading. A key figure in the move away from fluoride is Isom Lail, director of the South Blount County Utility District,

The utility decided not flouridate its water last year. Now, other Tennessee cities are beginning to look at the isuse. See this artilce in The Tennessean, which reported on Sept. 19, 2005:

City officials in Franklin are reconsidering their city's long-standing practice of putting fluoride in the drinking water to help prevent tooth decay.

The utility which Isom Lail manages is the largest in Tennessee with unfluoridated water.
